A SUBLIME ALPINE ENVIRONMENT
Crowsnest Pass, at an elevation of 4500 feet, balances on the vertex of the continental divide that is the Canadian Rockies. The mountains immediately surrounding the townships are the kinder, less imposing cousins of those in Jasper and Banff. The most famous peak is Crowsnest Mountain. However, a ten minute drive north up the Kananaskis, south down the Adanac, or just farther east on Hwy 3, and you'll find yourself in back country that rivals the rough majesty of any other location in the Rockies.

Ironstone Lookout itself is cozied up to the feet of the gentle peak of Saskatoon Mountain but faces the wide expanse of the Flathead range.

A sublime alpine environment, Crowsnest Pass affords the outdoor enthusiast every opportunity for mountain recreation.
